Crochet Baby Slipper ALL in Single Stitch

Creating a crochet baby slipper using only single crochet stitches is a great beginner-friendly project. Here’s a simple pattern designed for approximately a 0–3 month size baby slipper, made entirely with single crochet (sc) stitches.

🧢 Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn (category 4)
  • 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Note: This pattern is worked in rounds, from the sole up. Use a stitch marker to keep track of your rounds.

🧡 SOLE (Make 2)

Round 1:

  • Ch 10
  • In 2nd ch from hook: 2 sc
  • Sc in next 7 ch
  • 4 sc in last ch
  • Now working along other side of chain: sc in next 7
  • 2 sc in same as first stitch (you now have an oval)
  • (Total: 22 sc)

Round 2:

  • 2 sc in first 2 sts
  • Sc in next 7
  • 2 sc in next 4
  • Sc in next 7
  • 2 sc in last 2
  • (Total: 30 sc)

Round 3:

  • Sc in each st around
  • (Total: 30 sc)

Fasten off, leave a long tail if you are sewing the sole later.

🧦 SIDES & TOP

Join yarn to any stitch on the last round of the sole.

Round 4:

  • Sc in back loop only (BLO) around
  • (30 sc)

Round 5-8:

  • Sc in each stitch around (normal sc)
  • (30 sc each round)

Round 9:

  • Sc in next 10

  • Fasten off and weave in all ends.
  • You can optionally fold the top edge outward for a little cuff look or add a small button for decoration (not functional).
  • Repeat for the second slipper.
